Does anyone think opening up a can of Anchovies or sardines on a stand could be a benefit ?

Benefit for who? You or the bear at the bottom of your tree?

Didn't see you opened this up in the Coyote section. The scent would get picked up by them and might make them spooky.

While bow hunting in Colorado, I had a less than friendly encounter with a silver back and finally realized that I had a granola bar in my fanny pack and decided to share it with him to get him off the tree I was in.

They make their living with there nose so any kind of food can attract them. I have seen deer come to the smell of skoal tobacco. so it depends on the smell and the species.

Good luck but be careful what you ask for

sardines yes, but with gluten free crackers.........

Some states might consider that baiting, so if the PO PO show up eat it real fast.
