Can I convert my savage 30-06.

I have an old savage F-111 30-06 that doesn't really get much use. Can this rifle be converted to a 243 For my wife. Was kind of thinking a budget of about $1000....... Thank you in advance for any help

It certainly can be done and for alot less than $1000. Basically, it's just a barrel swap.
