Browning X-Bolt Gray Stock versions

On Gunbroker you see several Browning X-Bolts in what they call Gray Stock versions. These are always about $350 or so cheaper than the other stock versions. I was wondering what causes them to be cheaper (other than how fugly they are, lol). Are they not bedded etc? Is there anything that actually makes them cheaper made?

I never see them locally in dealer stock, usually just on gunbroker.

I have one in 26 nosler. Only difference is synthetic stock, but it's still bedded. Shoots .80 moa
