BIG DEAL Proofs New barrel Total game Changer?

I listened to the Hornady/Proof podcast while grabbing a workout the other day. I like the selling points Proof has for this tech they're touting. Lower torque/recoil and longer barrel life interested me. I could care less about the high pressure round stuff as I like reloading my brass cases.

I think having 22 or 6 CM barrels with twice the round count sounds great. Let's see if the marketing meets reality.

What I didn't like is the price of the barrels are $1k+, and every barrel profile has its own custom twist formula. We're waiting forever for barrels now. With this tech, I imagine you'll wait 2X+ longer for a barrel. That's not appetizing at all.

I'll be watching from the side to see how this progresses.

I researched for a few days, found a distributor with a decent amount of availability. What was a no-brainer was the cost. If I purchased a carbon blank, non proof, sent it to gunsmith, then his labor for chamber and cut threads for muzzle brake, I'd be considerably more than the pxt pre fit I purchased. I like a 7.5 twist for my 6.5 creedmoors and my 6 creedmoors. The dealer had the 6.5 barrels so I figured perfect timing with the peak ammo launch if I desired
