Best bullets to load subsonic for 300blackout

@Kyle Overman For hunting deer and hogs, the 200 gr Maker REX is what you want to load.

I can echo what Slick Boy Boo said. If hunting, use the 200 grain Makers bullets. 3 reasons:
1. The bullets shoot very accurately.
2. The bullets have excellent terminal performance on deer sized game.
3. Customer service is excellent. Load data provided with bullets was spot on in the 3 rifles I use makers in.

I'm a firearms instructor for my LE agency and based on the FBI ballistics data that we have the Hornady SubX 190 is the only bullet they tested which reliably expands at subsonic velocities. A judge friend of mine has a ranch where he regularly shoot lots of pigs and he uses the Hornady Subx exclusively, it's very effective on everything he shoots with it be it deer or pigs, coyotes or bobcats. He does limit his range to under 150 with most shots taken at 130 or so. With that said I don't recall seeing Lehigh Defense on the FBI list. Their Maximum Expansion 198 should perform very well at around 1,000 fps. but they ain't inexpensive.

The makers and cavity back Bullets have worked great for hunting with the best expansion. If target shooting pick a big heavy bullet amax or Sierra and they will do fine

Thanks

I have loaded 190 Nos CC, 208 A-Max, 220 Nos CC and 240 grain SMK.

I shoot pigs with them. Insane quiet out of a mod 7 with Omega can. Insane quiet. Pellet guns make more noise than this.

The 220 and 240 are preferable, but even the 190 at 1000 fps will exit a full grown (100-150 lb) pig and kill the pig next to it … *Almost every time.

The Nos CC are cheap to shoot but not fantastic at opening up, but, it does the job I need it to do. Kills pigs. Not always DRT, but dead somewhere else, which is preferable so I don't have to drag them off.

I did buy 200 of the 190 gr Sub-X loads. Have not shot a pig w it yet. I have loaded their 410 gr Sub-X in my 45-70. I'm very curious to see what this round will do to a pig! I have them loaded at exactly 1050 fps with Unique.

Have fun! A bolt action 300 blk is a perfect gun for that round.
