I ordered a box to measure up. The best I can measure they are identical to the 215 in the nose and boat tail with a shorter bearing surface. I believe they should perform like a 215 on game. I plan to try them in a 300 wsm, but they would be great in an 06 or short throated win mags as well. The freebore should be closer to .150" and with the very short bearing surface you will be able to drive them faster than most bullets in that class. FYI

1:9 twist for those aren’t they?
Or maybe I’m thinking of the new 200gr smk

Hmm, just checked the Berger website, they really backed down the twist rate recommended. The 230 is now 1:10.

I am also curious how these preform on game. High bc and should be able to push them fast. They could be a great bullet

2840fps out of a 10 twist 300 wsm- good terminal performance on elk
Same velocity out of an 11 twist Tikka- accurate but poor terminal performance(bullet tumbled and bent on 340 yard cow elk)

I am running them at 2826fps from a 24" 10 twist 300wsm. I haven't tried them on any game yet, but the accuracy has been pretty good. I am seeing 10 shot 1/2 moa groups at 1000, which is stellar shooting for me.

I have considered them even in a .308....I have had good performance with the 215 in a .308, reaching 2500-2575 fps with reloder 17 and 24" barrels loaded to 2.950" OAL, this 200 would likely break 2600, and with the stellar bc would perform pretty good I would assume.

I wonder what the reason is for this update?
They went to 1-9 twist and back to 1-10. It’s either to market to standard twist guys, or they shot thru NAMMO’s Doppler and got some really accurate data.

I would hope it would be the latter....it's not like they need more marketing, they can't keep their products on shelves as is, or produce a bullet nearly a year after they said it would be out....

I'm only a little salty about the 156.

That gun might do some f-class up here (canada) but I live a long ways from the closest F-class shoot. Due to the travel I can only make 1-2 shoots a year. I would rather spend money on components and rifles than travel...
