It sounded pricey. Not in the market anytime soon. Just good to have choices when the time

From a structural dynamics standpoint, the barrel should be far stiffer than a fluted barrel -- for a given weight. Some of their claims seem magical though.. For instance: Heat distribution is ENTIRELY dependent on surface area. Their claim that the barrel is magically cool is questionable. Flutes create more surface area. Now, what would potentially be amazing would be the ability to push air or heavens coolant down those clock like borings. Sound familiar? It should.

For all who want the finite accuracy, look up " Optimum barrel time vs. Barrel length, ms"
Years ago quite a study and lots of testing done since then. Problem is that you need a program to figure it all out, like Quick Load.
Most people really struggle with QL as it's just a program & like all programs it is " garbage in = garbage out". If you're willing to enter EVERYTHING, including measuring your case h20, calculating starting pressure / bullet jump factor etc etc. It works amazing. QL gives your barrel time in ms which is the key. You can watch your bullet time ( bt ) go up & down per powder changes and everything else. Powder % burned in barrel is another awesome tool to find best powder for load etc.
Then the powder & bullet seating depth ladder tests as always. Works for me but not easy.

I wasn't sure of QuickLoad had become a dirty word here.

I used extensively 5+ years ago. I had stepped away from the sport for a bit...

Like you said if you put in the time it gives great results. I found it to have good value.

I lost my discs and the computer that had it died of old age. Waiting on new discs from UK as the US distributor doesn't seem to provide any support. It's as if your not buying something eff off. That opinion was developed over 10+ years of dealing with them. (yes, that was a opening to rag on them for poor customer support).

Get GRT, it is free, it can even help you tune your load
I still use QL and GRT. Have Ben using QL before windows 10 came out
 
well, if weight on the end of a muzzle is bad and could be good, then my 2# 30cal rated brake on my 338lm (clearance is good for bullet to clear) then i need to put results on paper to finalize it. ammo used is imi 250smk. bought 1k @ $1.47/per. the brake could weigh a bit more, but haven't weighed it in 5 years. a very low-cost brake (less than $50 iirc) initially bought for a 30cal, but then bought the lm and gave it a go after making sure there was enough clearance.

Pete.......Revisited this thread...... very interesting.....carefully and accurately weigh magneto speed...... duplicate it`s weight with something to fit on barrel non obtrusive.... .500"MOA+ is too much to give up without trying to duplicate.....
