Barrel blank help

Looking for a good blank for my hunting rifle.....30 cal; SS; #3

My choices:
Shilen Chromo - $210 at my door in a week
Shilen Match - $250 at my door in a week
Shilen Select Match - $340 May/end
Brux - $325 in June 15

hmmm....what say the experts? How do I balance time, price and potential benefits of SS?

I would spend my money on Bartlein, Krieger, Brux, MuellerWorks, Benchmark, or Hart. Look on Red Hawk Rifle's, Bullet Central, and bugholes for the best deals on the above brands. Those are some of the top barrels right now and are the most consistent and highest quality available.

Check out bugholes.com just bought a brux from them and had it in a week or less. SS #5 1-9 .30 cal. $320 I think including shipping. They will flute it also if that's what your into.

i know. I'm thinking about that, but right now, I'm thinking my rifle is sitting about 8.75 lbs....I really want to keep it under 9 lbs with a 24" barrel and I want minimal barrel inletting.

i feel like a #4 will be 9lb plus....

Order a Bartlein haha. I have two of them. They have never copper fouled and they are extremely accurate.

Yep, I ordered my first one from him and it was here in a few days. Ordered my second one from Red Hawk Rifles because bugholes didn't have the one I was looking for. It was also here in a few days. We are living in a great time to be building and buying rifles parts on the shelf and having them here within a week.
