I will try to keep the following rant brief. If any of you are from an area where rifles are not allowed for big game hunting you may understand my pain. I am the type of person who likes to share my experiences and passion for hunting and shooting with anyone who expresses any interest in talking about it. However, here in southern Michigan every word related to long range seems to be dismissed as an exaggeration or fabrication. The general population here seems to view anything over 150yds as "long range", anything over 250yds is "extreme long range" and anything over 300yds is **** near impossible and if you claim to be able to shoot with any form of consistency beyond 500yds you're a liar. My discussions are often greeted by a sarcastically doubtful "That's pretty far...". I realize exactly how far it is, I own a high end rangefinder specifically for that purpose. I have actually been told by one person that there are only 3 people in the world that can shoot 1000yds. So if the other two of you are reading this we should meet up and talk about it. LOL. OK, rant over. Is there anyone else here that feels my pain?
