Currently I have a 28 Nosler but would like a 30 Cal. With the in vogue 300PRC is anyone shooting the 30N anymore?

First response confirms my theory no more need for the scientific method. You can find a bunch of 300 PRC customs for sale very few 30N. It's because people aren't reselling them.

At the 100 yard range today, first four shots same hole, pulled the last one to the right. Kills everything it gets pointed at with Berger 215 Hybrids and VV N568 powder @3,050fps.

30 nosler is becoming one of my favorite calibers and it's nice to be able to find brass easily.

If you don't mind how much n568 behind that 215 berger? I'm using n568 in mine with 220 berger. Haven't settled on load yet this barrel has maybe 100 rds on it

- AxisWorks built 30 Nosler throated long with a .230 fb
- Proof 26" Sendero Contour 1:9tw
- Once fired ADG brass
- Berger 215 Hybrid
- Fed 215GM
- 89.0gr VV N568
- CBTO 2.930
- Right at 250 rounds down the tube currently

I originally started with VV N570 and was getting 3,100 fps with a stout load of 88gr, decided to try the VV N568 and back it down to the milder 3,050fps node. Now consistently getting tighter groups with ES of 16 -18 and SD's of 6 - 7.7 with 89.0 of VV N568

Love my 30 Nosler. I shoot the 180 Accubonds at 3185 fps. I would love to find some 200 or 210s to shoot once I'm out of the 180s. Will never get rid of this rifle.

I've had one for three years and love it. It shoots 215-230s to the same speed (2980), group size and poi.

A sammi reamer is great for bergers but not for non vld bullets as it stuffs them too far in the case.

If you don't hand load then I'd suggest the 300 prc, otherwise it's a toss up.

Imo-you see so many prc's for sale because there's been sooooo many sold in the past couple of years.

Below is a 230 as seated at .020 off and a recovered bullet from an elk.

I hand load currently a 28N with the 195 Berger. Anyone have a recommendation for a builder to shoot the 215-220. Possibly Hammers.

Is that sammi reamer? The reamer used on my 30 nosler had .162 freebore and the 220 bergers set out just a touch farther

I shoot Berger 205 EHs out of my 30N, getting about 3030 using N565. It is very accurate and is a hammer as well. I rebarreled this from a 28N which was much more finicky. I won't go back to a 28N and love my 30.
