Any one has first hand experience with Zeiss Conquest HD scopes?

I like the Conquest scopes I have for the price they were sold at. The new Conquest HD line is supposedly a upgrade. I have a Diavari scope with the new style turrets that I like, and they are now on Conquest HD. My question is the quality of the new HD line glass. Are they better than the old Conquest, or just a dress up from the old line? The name HD seems to imply it's improved high definition glass but could also mean marketing gimmick

Any one has bought one and how do you like it?

The HD has noticeably better glass...

I have an HD5 (3-15x42 adjustable turrets) and my wife has a Conquest MC 3.5-10x44 on her 270.

I own about 10 Conquest scopes including 3 HD5's and the HD5 has better glass.

I would not say it is a great deal better but it is noticeable. The HD5's I own are all 3-15 1 is a 50mm the other 2 are 42. Get the 50mm if you don't mind the weight.

I really like the old conquest 4.5-15x50 the turrets on the HD5 are better and have the zero stop feature which is good but once you set the stop you're limited to 17 MOA which will get you out there a long way but not to 1000 with most firearms. If you don't install the zero stop you can dial up approx. 35 moa with a zero cant rail.

The 50mm is noticeably heavier than the 42 with an image quality that is outstanding as good as any scope I have owned. Including a few swaro's.

Good luck and shoot straight

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I like my old conquests. The elevation is quite limited due to 1 inch tube, so I am thinking of getting one with rapid z reticle and use 20-30 moa base to set zero little far out

Good shooting
