Picked up another 7mm Rem Mag Remington 700, this one is very unique and probably the oldest Remington 700 i own to date. Barrel has a UAN on it, the AN would indicate 1966 or 93. Im betting its a 1966, thoughts or comments? Needs a new trigger guard and rear sight to be perfect.

That is a real work horse. I have a couple Remington and Mauser big 7's.
Mauser is made by Heym with Krupp barrel.

I have a 222 with that exact same pressed in checkering pattern. My guess is my dad bought the rifle when I was 10 or 11. We killed a lot of woodchucks with that gun! I still have it, although I've played around with other stocks on it. I do still have the original stock though. The gun is a family heirloom!

I was looking around and heard modern scope bases might have to be shimmed ?

Im thinking i might take this one apart and throw my spare Remage on it using the factory stock. Would have to open the barrel channel some. I currently have a 7mm prc that i enjoy and dont really need another 7 but i couldn't pass up this deal.
