An 80g Hammer bullet? A 1500g 20mm? A 30 rd magazine? I 'offered' it my chip hook, and he willingly crawled up it. I flipped him on to the concrete floor and the heel of my left boot did the rest!

Then you haven't happened upon some of the Diamondbacks I have!
We've had so much rain here in south Texas that there was a grass snake on my work bench the other day I just picked him up and threw him out but the thing that made me laugh was walking out the back door going down the steps and at the bottom was a crawfish with his pinchers up in the air as if to say "battle!".

No way in hell. Keep them both if you can, but on the hierarchy of "things I would rather not deal with" rattlesnakes are right up there.
