9.3x62 for North America

Maybe I cant read very well, but chuck hawk recoil table shows this at 33.3 lbs.
That is not a lot.
No it really isn't. I have a friend with a 9.3x62 and another with a .35 Whelen. So many hunters seem to have it in their head that anything with a bigger bore than 8mm must be a cannon or something. Out of equal weight rifles I actually find the 7mm and 30 caliber magnums would be more flinch inducing. I don't know what the difference in felt recoil would be, if much…but the magnums have MUCH nastier muzzle blast and just seem more violent to shoot, snappier. The older I get the more I realize that I can take a very hard hit to the shoulder by itself and not be bothered much…I'm convinced concussive muzzle blast and the speed at which the thing comes back at you have more to do with perceived recoil than the actual punch. And by those metrics the moderate medium bore cartridges like these are just plain awesome. A lot of capability without much fuss.
