I have shot a pile of 175gr Hornady IL from my stock Browning Abolt. I think they are 1-9.5", or close. They stabilize without a problem.

64gr. RL22, Fed. 215, Rem. brass, 175gr. Hornady IL Spitzer.

I tried this same load with the Sierra 175gr. GK, and it didn't shoot as well for me. They may, if the load was tweaked a bit though. I have no reason to switch for my 7mm rem mag, this load has shot under an inch for 5-600 rounds in the last few years.

Good luck to you, Eric

wookie- i love that mesquite stock . i have shot several bull elk with the 175 sierra . i used a case full of h-870 79 grain or so. all of my remington 700's stabilized it . now i would use a different powder. starting with h-4831 longcut extreme. roninflag
