Who\'s shooting 175gr Gamekings with a 7mm Rem Mag?

I am getting ready to roll some ammo with 175gr Gamekings, and was curious how far off the lands you guys were seating em. I am rolling for a Win Super Grade. The throat on it is fairly long, and if I load some bullets .050 off the lands, its too long for the mag box. I was wondering what you guys were doing.

I tried some 175 SMKs in a A-Bolt 7RM, and they would not stabilize. Some of the bullets did not make it to the 200m targets. The 168s shot lights out. Just FYI. I do not know the exact twist on that rifle, but it was too slow.

I'm also curious about those gamekings. How do they perform on game?

WOW! I did not know how thin those jackets were. I thought they would at least be thicker than a MK, looks like the onlydifference between the MK and the GK is the MK has a hollowpoint.

Heres the MK

so then what does one do if he has a bunch of GK's loaded up, and something under 100yd presents itself? Looks like that thing would be a grenade if the impact velocity is too high.

Stephen, it might have been a 1-9.5 twist. My Rem700 ADL had a 1-9.5 twist. I had been asking in another forum about twist rates for 175gr MK's and 180 VLD's and they all have been shooting a 1 in 9 twist. That was in the Benchrest forum, too I believe.

Check it.
