7mm accuracy

Are there any real accuracy differences in the 7mm Rem mag vs. the 7 WSM if using the same length action?

I'm not a fan of belted cases like the 7mm mag. I feel there are more things to go wrong with them from an accuracy/reloading/tolerance standpoint, but that's just my opinion and I'm sure others have had good results. I've read that the shorter fatter cases burn powder more consistently, but.....

I don't think so. I've heard and read several articles about the WSM cases/loads. Burn faster, shoot straighter, cleaner, hotter ect. I don't know of any real true difference. Maybe a couple of FPS here or foot pounds there but not enough to go either way.

I'm a .264 WM fan and have never had a problem with brass so the belt issue is mute to me. I am all for extra horse power though.

I have been a 264 fan for years,(1964) but have never been able to get it to group tighter than 1 inch at a 100 until now. I just rechambered the same old barrel to 6.5 dakota and the accuracy is great. I believe belted cases are more finiky to shoot. Oh by the way 3569fps with a 120 grain bullet and .5 in patterns.

I've never had a problem getting a belted case caliber to shoot well. I don't know what the hype is about the belt. I've spent just as much time at the range with 4 different short mags and have had to do all the same stuff to every rifle with load development.

A properly built rifle and well tuned load is just as good from either type caliber.

I wouldn't mind a 7 RSAUM built on a long action- like a Savage 112 BVSS or something.

What I'd really like is something like this, but right or left feed with DBM and left eject on the 112 stainless action platform and a nice aftermarket trigger.
