7 x 57 to 7 x 57 ackley

I'm planning to change my wifes 7x57 to an 7x57 ackley.I should be able to have my dies done at same time.
Has anyone had my experience with this load? We both have .257 ackleys and love them.My powder stash is rldr 19, 22 h 4350,4831,imr 4320,4064,7828,3031.Would appreciate any of your thoughts. thanks, Larry

Larry, you should stay with the original. In my opinion it makes little to none sense changing the classic 7x57. Then you should better directly go for the 7x64 Brenneke or 280AI instead. A 7x57 with a 162gr bullet and a decent load will give you a velocity of 800m/s or 2625ft/s. That's good enough for deerhunting out to at least 500yards. If you're going to use something like the 150gr SciroccoII you should gain even more velocity, ca. 2700ft/s. Of course, it's all up to you and your wife.

After checking some load data from the "scribe Jack o'conner", i decided to load her up with 140's and not worry about 100fps. Sometimes we forget that our pardners have not been doing this for 55 years.They are happy to go and are competant to 300-400 yds.I think I forgot who's gun it will be.thanks larry

me too,I like the classics, and the mauser is one of them.I admit though I don't know the Ackley.Sure chambers beautifully.Sweet to fire.
