I am in a conundrum. The published data Hodgdon data, for Ramshot Magnum, was pretty accurate for the 28 Nosler. 79.8 grains gave me an average speed of 2954 which is only 24 fps less than what's published and my barrel is only 22", but with a suppressor. I am using ADG brass and multiple primers. I tried CCI 34, BR2, Fed 210M, and CCI 250. They all performed within 15 fps of each other.

However, my speeds are lethargic and aren't close to the published 7 PRC data.
1. I shot the Hammer 177 gr with 70.4 and 70.7 grains which gave me 2795 and 2819, respectively.
2. Berger 175 EH with 71.5 grains only yielded 2787 fps.
3. Hornady 175 ELDX with 72 grains yielded 2875

Therefore, I am running 120-150 fps less than what's published for the 7 PRC. This is pretty disappointing. I am starting to believe Ramshot Magnum isn't a good match for the 7 PRC's case capacity.

Anyone else have a similar or different experience?

Accuracy was 3/4 MOA to 1" with Magnum. I got sub-MOA with H1000. This weekend I will see if I can replicate that accuracy with Retumbo, N565, and LRT.
I ran N565 at 69.7gr with 175gr Nosler ABLRs, 22" proof barrel and averaged 2924fps with a sub-moa group loaded at 20thou off the lands. I have a few ELD-Xs left and I have loaded them with 69.3gr. I'll run them tomorrow after this **** rain ends.

I also ran Magpro with the ABLRs at 50thou off the lands, and averaged 2880fps. If I poke them out a bit longer and add a few tenths of powder, I expect tho hit 2900fps.

on what game will you be using it on and to what ranges will you be taking game with the rig on a yearly basis?

I am beginning to believe hole heartedly that hornady has heavily over exaggerated their published fps for the 7 PRC. I have just over 150 rnds through mine and it is consistently 100-150 fps lower then published velocities. My buddy's isn't much better averaging 80-120 gps lower. Both with 24" tubes. They both shoot MOA or better but it's still disappointing reading those chrono numbers. Neither have reloaded for them yet, so maybe that will yield better results. Or maybe I'll just throw it in the back of the safe an pull out the ol 28. More of an over bore whore anyway. lol

Yep. Hornady has an impressive marketing schtick. Hand loading and keeping withing the pressure limit will still result in lower-than-advertised velocities, but with a 24" tube one can get within 50fps. That's good enough to live up to the purpose of the cartridge.

I got up to 2920fps today working up in .5 grain increments to 71.5 grains of h1000, Peterson brass, cci 250. Had all 3 touching at the 71.5 charge also, no signs of pressure but at 99% case fill with the 180 eldm I'd say I'm knocking on the door. That's definitely faster than I expected out of a 20" pipe. Gonna play around with the 71.5 eldm load before I try some 168 vld bergers and 175 eldx.
