6.8 ?

Do we have anyone who has been messing with this relatively new caliber (i believe)?. Im trying to decide what to build after im finished with the king of the 7mils and was all for jumping right into the king of the 30 cal until i saw the military was playing with the 6.8 and im interested to learn more about this caliber

There's the .277 Fury by Sig (6.8mm). That is/was in the running for a military contract

Browning has a 6.8 Western which is similar to the 270 WSM (also a .277/6.8) but with faster twist rates, for heavy bullets.

6.8mm is the same as the good old 270 Winchester.

So this is something between a 270 and 280? I presume

Metric vs. USA is all.
270 Winchester is .277"
6.8mm = .277"

280 is actually .284" (AKA 7mm)

Nice thanks that answers my question perfectly ill be building a 30 378WM next soon as im done with this 7RUM i dont think a 270 is king of anything aside from being an excellent and proven deer caliber

Take a 300 Lapua mag and down size neck for the 27cal.

Ill never knock the 270 im sure they have taken great amounts of animals of many species and been wildcated in all sorts of variations but i think ill go bigger
