6.5PRC - 130gr bullets ?

I'm running the 130TMK bullets with 57.5gr RE26 at just over 3,000 ft/sec with surprising accuracy. Loaded .010"-.015"-.020"-.025 off the rifling all shoot similar size groups at 400 yds.

While the accuracy is impressive I expected to see more velocity. What velocity are you getting with 130 class bullets in your PRC rifles.

I am using Lapua cases, Fed 210M primers and firing in a 23.5" Proof barrel.

Hornady ran 59.1 rl26 with the 130 eld-m for 3200 and a 26" barrel.
Assuming you didn't hit pressure but just found an accuracy node if you go to the next node you might hit 3150+/-

Did you try running it faster? That appears low, I run 140's at 3,000 out of a 26" 6.5x284.

Agreed I run 140's at almost 3100 in a 24". They give me pressure signs in high heat, nothing in 70 and below. I'd expect you could find a node at a much higher velocity.

Same here I can get 147s up to 3000 with 24". Maybe a faster powder, h-1000 has been great with 140s or h4831sc

Try RL23? That is my go-to powder for 6.5PRC. 140-144 @ 2930-2960 with a moderate load. 130 OTM @ 3050fps from a 24".
I use it in my 6.5SS and just got 3101 w. 55.5gr RL23 in a 26" w. 130 TMKs. This is a light load too.

I think, R23 might be the perfect powder for the 55-60 gr cases like the prc and 6.5×284. I had used H4831sc in my 65x284 for years, good node at 2950. MRP and R26 gave another 100-150 fps, I didn't spend enough time with it to evaluate accuracy. Too many rifles...

RL25 is very usable as well if you can find it. Only reason I got on the 25 was because I couldn't get my hands on 26. Looks like I'll be figuring out a N565 load in the near future as I can't find either.

I run the 135 Berger in a 22" proof @ 3150 with 57.6gr of N560. Last group I shot was .39" and playing with seating depth now.

1. upping the RE26 charge
2. trying some RE23

No RE25 or N560/565 to try

What charge weight of RE23 did you use under the 130 OTM to get 3,050?

I'm running 143's at 3100 with RL26 with a 24" barrel. Half a grain from book redline with great accuracy. With my gun, that's the limit, pressure shows up if you run it hotter...

I'm running 130 Cutting Edge MTH single feeds, over 63 grains of Ramshot Magnum getting consistent 3275. 24" Christensen Mesa, Groups are holding .5 moa out to 300 so far haven't tested past that. This is max load for my rifle. Best part is I'm able to mag feed the single feeds. I have some 130 hammer hunters I'm going to try also and they may even get me more speed.
