6.5 PRC with 140 Berger Elites?

Just work up to that. It initially didn't hit that velocity. After a couple hundred on a new barrel it jumped almost 100 fps.

Shooting out to 900 (range limitation). Farthest I grouped that load was 650. I shot a 3.5" 4 shot group at 650. Been my grab n go deer rifle the last few years.

The bergers for 2 years have been drt on deer. I lost the biggest deer of my life this year ironically at 650. Was it me... idk but he crumbled limped off never to be seen again. I'm contemplating a change. Might just be crap luck but personally on elk I'd make sure it was a no brainer shot. My 2 cents. This lost deer rocked my little hunting world and confidence with this load. Prior to that nothing but dirt naps but an elk and a mule deer are different monsters. Not trying to be a Debby but I'm still upset about that deer.

I shot the one in that picture with the 6.5 prc at 522. Drt

Hell yeah I've done good with accubonds but can't find any in 6.5 my 300 shoot them good with r-22 I thought about the new lazer bullets just haven't got that far we'll my friend have a great evening thanks for the chat

Is anybody using the 140 Bergers in their 6.5 PRC? I am going to load up some and see how they do. I have RL26 on hand. Any help is appreciated. I did contact Berger and they said to start at 54.5. That seemed a bit high for starting point.
Length on Nosler casing 2.015
Coal 2.942
Berger VLD 140 grain
H1000 54 grain
210m primer

I'm sure I pulled the one shot, barrel could have heated up. But all and all still not bad.

H1000 might be a bit tough for you to find but if your anywhere near I have an extra pound or so

My hunting load for the 140 EH is 56.5 of RL26 with .002 NT and 1/16 turn with the Lee FCD. Velocity is 3075, 3 shot group under .5 moa, ES <10 fps.
