6.5 PRC with 140 Berger Elites?

My xbolt shoots the 140 elites awesome with 58 gr RL 26 at 3055 FPS.
pushed it to 3100 FPS but it opens up faster than 3055 FPS.

Build a 6.5 Sherman for the 156ers

I still get over 3000 fps on all my 6.5 prc's with 156's. I have 3 of them. 2 with RL 26 and one with N560. I will say this N560 basically gets me the same results in velocity on all of them and actually gains me 30 fps more than RL26 on a 20" barrel one.

56.5 - 57 for me with a 140-143.

I use 60gr of h1000 in a 28" and get 3150fps in my 6.5saum. No pressure signs and extremely accurate shooting 140gr berger hunting vld. Haven't changed anything, haven't needed to. My favorite rifle/caliber.

That looks like a nice load that's easy on brass! Mind sharing which brass brand you use? I'm using 61.0 H1000 with the 139/140 class but that's with Remington 300 SAUM brass that's been prepped.

For years I used Norma brass but have bought 300 pieces of ADG headstamped 6.5saum. Waiting to wear out all the Norma then change over.

I run a 22" at 3050 with a 140. On my 6th reload with tight pockets. Same load in 95f is still good to go with no pressure signs.

I'm not sure, i just got my prc and got some load data from Berger and they are using a lot more powder on their end. For 135 Classic's they show a low end of 56.1 and a max of 61.6 of RE26.
On the 140 Elite's they show a low end of 54.5 and a max of 60.5.
I'm worked up a few loads with the 135's for today and I will see how they do.

I found my 6.5saum to be not fussy at all. Shooting 140gr berger hunting vld.
On a ladder test it shot almost every load extremely well. I just found the point at heavy bolt lift and backed off to 60gr h1000 @ 3150fps. This is so accurate I have never changed in 5 years. Info from George Gardner convinced me to use h1000 and the saum. Best shooting rifle I've ever owned and poison on hogs and deer.

Berger does their load developement with a program not a rifle is what they told me. I shoot 55gr rl26 and 140 berger elite hunter. 3100 fps out of a 24in IBI barrel.
