6.5 PRC Primer ?

What are you guys using for primers?

Been working up some loads for a New 6.5 PRC No.1 with Fed 215s.

Anyone having better luck with 210's?

We will be hunting in Idaho late Oct, so it won't be too cold to need the 215s.

I have it shooting pretty good with Hammer 124's, always looking for better?

210GM's are working great for me with RL26 pushing the 156's. Bug hole groups.

Im using cci250 mag primers on both my 6.5 prcs 124 gr and 123 gr and 131 gr hammers with vithivouri N165 powder

210 and RL25 pushing 140's almost 3100. Very accurate.

I've only have wlr primers left they work but I am getting at least one shot less since they seem to be smaller so pockets loosen up quicker

That is what I found with the Blue Box Winnys. They are few tenths smaller. For years all I would use was Winchester primers. When the Blue Boxes appeared, I switched to Federal and Wolf primers.

Havn't tried RL25 yet, will give it a try.

Loading data is as scarce as hair on a frogs back (my dad's favorite saying).

RCBS has their primer/die combos back in stock, if you need some primers.

I run both but mainly the 210 and hunt all winter in Idaho. Never "needed" the 215 due to cold temps.

I started with Fed 215s but was hitting pressure well below book max. I tested the same load with CCI 250s and the pressure went away, ES went down and velocity went up.

I've done quite well with my Hawkeye PRC using Federal 210M's behind Berger 140 VLD's and SMG 142's. I have 1700 of them, but I'm starting to get nervous. Maybe by late 2022 we'll see some Federals on the shelves. I Almost bought some CCI's in my gunstore yesterday, but at $100/1000 I passed. I shouldn't have. All the reloading components seem to be breaking loose except primers. Especially Federals.
