400 Yard Buck Custom 270 WSM

Taylor sent us a video and pictures of his successful deer hunt. Taylor's hunting buddy spotted the buck with his bare eyes in a small opening they had been glassing for several hours. They ranged him at 400 yards and as he fed around. The deer bedded for a few minutes, giving Taylor an opportunity to set up his custom built 270 WSM.

The buck walked into a little opening and Taylor thread the 110gr Hammer Hunter between some branches dropping him in his tracks.

Pay attention to the slow motion video you can see the bullet vapor trail and how small of a shooting window Taylor had.

Yup,. I shot clear THRU, a Bull Elk ( BOTH Shoulders ) at 115 yards, 2 years ago with, a 140 Berger, Classic Hunter at, 3,173 FPS with my, .270 WSM.
Bam ,.. Hooves in Air,.. with the high shoulder shot !
Upper lungs were "scrambled" with, minimal meat loss !

I'd love to know his velocity out the gate. That's so I can calculate impact velocity. Probably didn't have enough "energy" to be able to kill it at that range with such a tiny pill. That deer is pretty good at faking it.
