Not a 338 WM, but a 338 wildcat. Ordered their #3/Heavy Sporter at 22 inches. At 22" with the brake it is just under 3 pounds. I think it is close to the Bartlein 3b.
Ordered a Savage prefit and had it in about 3 weeks.

OP,your build sounds pretty good and thought out,every things a compromise but that's what makes it your build . When I had my 338 win/mag built many years ago I went with a # 5 conture ss ,xx Douglas air gaged barrel 1/10 twist at 26 inch's , yes it a couple ounces heavier but I was looking for more Speed and preformence, 25 fps,per inch is the gain or loss . If I built another I'd run a Brux ,Krieger, Or Bartlein ,mine ended up being a 600 yd target rifle ,and it's been a never let me down rifle ,good luck with your build ,Cheers & Merry Christmas to all !!!.
