338 RUM with 285 eldm’s

Anyone loading 285 eldm's in a 338 ultra with H1000 or Retumbo? What velocities are you seeing?

285 Amax and H1000 was scooting along at 2940 out of my 338 RUM with 30" barrel. I didn't see any pressure signs (primers fine, no ejector swipe, easy bolt lift), but decided to pull my remaining rounds and work with lower charges to be on the safe side.

Currently waiting for some warmer weather before heading to the range again.

Warmer weather??? I'm in Billings too. It's not that cold…

What powder charge did you work up to?

What powder charge did you work up to?

I started at 85 gr and worked up to 93.5 gr of H1000. This was shot in a Stiller Predator action.

Basically tried to split the difference between data for the 275 and 300 gr projectiles from Hodgdons data set.
