I was testing a new load yesterday and had a couple rounds left after chronographing and shooting groups so I tried a couple shots at paper plates from 2350. The rifle was built by Aztek Arms and is using their T-338 action, Schneider barrel, McMillan A-5, Aztek bottom metal, Accurate mag magazine, and Shilen trigger. Posted is a three shot group using 300 gr SMK's and reloader 33 that I shot laying prone before trying the plates.

Nice shooting and a great looking smoke pole. Could you share your load specifications? Grains, COAL, velocity, barrel length, etc. Your TOF was a bit quicker than I would have imagined it would be. Thanks

Jim

This particular load was 105 grains reloader 33, Lapua brass, cci 250 primer, and 300 Smk. Velocity was 3035. Coal was 3.720. Barrel is 30". TOF should be 3.82 seconds

I am having a 338LM Imp built as we speak. I have had a 338LM for the last 2 years, but want some more punch out at long range. It will be throated for the 300 grs Berger OTM.
I have been using Viht N570 powder, and will continoue to do so in the Imp version also. Barrel will be 32" long. Any thoughts of how much powder I can use?

I have never used that powder. I had no data on the reloader 33 so I started really low, walking it up one grain at a time while shooting through the chrono while watching for pressure and expected velocity. I reload at the the shooting bench so it makes it pretty quick and less wasteful. Good luck with your project.
