308 ammo help

i shoot a 308 and i was woundering what is the best ammo i can buy? like best all around. because right now im shooting the federal comp. style ammo(cant think of the name right now) i was woundering what is the best all around ammo i can buy??

It depends on what you want to do with your ammo. But if you want to punch paper then the Federal Gold medal match in 155, 168, 175 SMK is awful tough to beat.

For hunting the remington corelok ammo is good stuff.

When you say federal comp. style ammo, are refering to Federal gold medal match.
If so, you are already shooting the best.

For what its worth. At one time the Marine Corps was very fond of Federal 210 match primers, 42.5 grains of IMR 4064 and 168 Grain Sierra Match kings. I think now we have moved to 175 grain SMK and am not sure on the powder charge.
