I have a 3006 SPR. and want to use it for large deer and elk to about 650 yds. does anyone have any experience with the 185 OR 190 GR. Berger under these conditions?

I have a .30-06 AI that I shoot the Berger 185 VLD's out of. But my load data will be way too high for a regular .30-06 Sprg. I use 7828 SSC powder and Federal 210M primers.

But according to QuickLoad (haven't finalized on load development yet), I'm estimated to be around 2,860-2,900 fps out of a 26" 1:12 barrel.

I should have noted I am not looking for load data, but bullet performance on game?

I've shot a few deer with the 7mm 168 VLD's between 175-225 yards. They worked great.

I haven't shot anythint with the .30 VLD's yet. But hopefully this year I will.

They should perform the same, being the same design of bullet, just slightly different weight and diameter.

If that helps somehow...
