My end goal is a 300wsm with a 20" barrel to which I will attach a TBAC Ultra 7. My issue has been in finding the right rifle that will accommodate a barrel shortening. My budget for the rifle is $1200. Currently, the most viable options appear to be the Ruger American go wild or one of then savage 110s with a non-fluted barrel. I have a tikka t3x in 270 that I enjoy, but am not enthused about the magnum twist rate.
