300 wsm precision hunter

For the 300 wsm, it looks like hornady only offers the 200 gr eldx in their precision hunter line of ammo. Any theories out there on why they went with the 200 gr eldx over the 178 gr eldx?

That's a great question. Right up there with why they sell a different powder from what's in Superformance loads.

Just guessing that since it's a magnum caliber, they felt it could get the most out of the higher BC, heavier bullet? They put the 178 grain ELD-X in their .308 Win ammo.

My Tikka 300WSM shoots 175gn Boogers really well. I think it's a great idea if they add this weight and maybe worth furthering to Hornady.

I once pulled the bullet from a 300 Win Mag Hornady Heavy Mag. Not sure about the powder or how they got it in there. After a couple mins the powder started spilling over out of the case.
