I was wondering if anyone has a starting point for a load development using retumbo in a 300 WSM, I shoot a 190 grain bullet. I can't find one and would love to try one out.

Thanks in Advance.

That powder is a little too slow for the 300 WSM with 190s. I'm sure it would work alright, but you most likely won't get maximum performance. I'd look more towards H4831, RL23, RL26 or maybe even H1000.

Sierra data shows 72.4gr of Retumbo as max with a 190gr bullet in a .300 WSM. Velocity is listed at 2870FPS. I would start at 69.5gr and work up.

Thanks for the info, I currently shoot H4831 but my gun likes a light load and I'm hoping by switching to the slower powder I can increase case capacity and gain a few 100 more FPS.

Won't happen. 4831 is going to be pretty slow as it stands. You might need to go up in powder and see if you can get to a higher node. N560,RL26 would be your best option if you needed more speed but we're running into pressure.

I am shooting H4831SC in the 190 grain, but likes the 180 better with H4350
