I recently have aquired a Tikka T3 Superlite in 300 win mag. Put a Bell and Carlson stock to replace the cheap factory. I also noticed the twist is 1:11'', would 165-200 grain bullets work with this twist?
It will probably shoot 200's good but will shoot 180's much better. Just depends on how accurate you need it to be. I've seen this on a couple 11 versus 10 twist barrels before. Europeans tend to shoot lighter weight bullets. This is why the have the slower twist.
I also just got a tikka 300wm, but mine is the boar hunter with 21" barrel. i plan to shoot up to the 185 berger hunter, and maybe as low as the 110 barnes tacx for whitetail and soft recoil
Yes! My SAKO M995 in .300 WM has 24" and 1:11" propels the 190 Berger VLD at 3043 FPS MV and harvested a MT bull elk at 931 yards with it in 2013.
MT is an altitude friendly state and aids in the stabilization of the heavier bullets despite the slower twist rate, for instance, if you can propel the 210 Berger at 2800 FPS at 3000 ft your SG is 1.70. Try plugging in your actual numbers using Twist Rate Stability Calculator | Berger Bullets
