300 win mag Berger 205 and RE-26

Figured I'd try H4831 SC first and I was not disappointed. Figured I'd add my findings here after my ladder test yesterday. Brass is virgin Peterson long 300 win mag, Fed 215 GMM, and H4831 SC. CBTO was 2.875 with a .015" jump.Velocity was as follows
69 gr - 2,822
69.5 - 2,855
70 - 2,871
70.5 - 2,878
71 - 2,919
71.5 - 2,934
72 - 2,960
72.5 - 2,962
73 - 2,981
73.5 - 3,021
74 - 3,051
Obviously use this data at your own risk. Work up in your rifle

Nice. I have a barrel arriving on Friday and will be doing the same. I also was thinking of starting with 4831sc. What's the details on your gun?

It's a Seekins Havak PH2. So 26" barrel and 1:10" twist. Those 9 rounds were the first I've fired through it so we'll see what the load does over time. If the barrel speeds up, awesome, I'll drop charge weight

If you can't get RL26 Ramshot Magnum works well. My buddy went with a lighter load 200 ELDM going 2880 fps. Rem 700 LR. He was still getting used to the recoil so he went with the lighter load.

Luckily I have probably 6 pounds left in the jug. I bought the H4831 mainly because 26 is so hard to find I can't hardly bring myself to use it any more. I've even thought about trading it for something else and letting someone else benefit from the speed. I don't really chase the speed too much any more. 2,900 with a good bullet keeps me lethal to and beyond my personal limits so I don't need to step on it

I'm awful tempted to work up a load with the 225 ELDM. Only because of the .777 G1 bc. Could dub the load the hand of God

With the velocities you were getting with H4831 I'd just pick an accurate load lol. Seems to work out pretty good for you.

That's the plan. I'm hoping to get out this weekend and get some more data. I'm exploring with 71.8, 72 and 72.2 grains for accuracy. Hopefully it shoots well then I can stretch it out and hopefully it holds together and I can come across a bear this spring
