I'm looking to do long range hunting (out to 1000 yards) on whitetail deer. My gun is a 300 win mag with 1-9 twist. Im new to the hammer bullet craze. What bullet would you guys recommend?

Get your hands on ADG or Gunwerks brass. I think my first choice would be the 181g Hammer Hunter. With rl23 we can push these at 3300 fps. The 199g Hammer Hunter would also be a good option. Should be able to push these about 3100 fps. Will likely need something like rl26 for the heavier bullet.

Thank you for the input. I forgot to mention, the available of powders i have are H1000, Retumbo, and H4831sc. would H1000 be ok with the 199gr or 181g?

Lapua is making 300 win brass as well now

We haven't had a chance to try the Lapua to know if it will handle the same kind of pressure as ADG.
Im sure you have tested both brands in other calibers like I have but I have no doubt you shoot waaaaay more than I do these days haha. I find Lapua and ADG to be some of the best on the market, especially in terms of abuse they can take. I have a case of peterson, for my next win mag build, that I hear good things about as well.

Mine is a 26" 9 twist shooting 199s at 3170 with H4831 SC in virgin ADG. Velocity captured with LabRadar and validated using advertised BC.

I going to try some 180 and 180 in 300 win mag with RL23 this weekend at buddies range in Montana. RL26 shot great with 181 . Trying some different powders in 300 RUM also. I have a box of 199 but have shot any yet. Going to test 143 in 7 Rem mag Also this weekend for first time . I think I bought the box 3 years ago ? 🤔

STEVE,
Any suggestions on powders ? I have plenty RL26. One pd. left of RL23. Lots of H1000 and Retumbo. N565, N570. One pd. N560 . Also have 7977 and 8133. I tried H4831. Didn't shoot well at all.
