.300 Norma magnum for hunting??

Try 91-92grs of R-33 with a 230 Berger in your improved. That is what mine likes and it's about identical in capacity to yours in Norma brass but is about 108.9grs in 423 Dakota brass. Another guy has used my reamer and his shoots the same load. It will shoot that load in the .1's and .2's at 3045fps. I'm .007" off the lands or 3.608" OAL. My throat length is .235" so it will work with both 215's and 230's. The barrel is a 30" Bartlein 4 groove 10" twist.

Idaho, thanks for the data with RL33, I've got a bunch of it to burn ....
Finally got around to making me a modified case last night for my Stoney Pt OAL gauge from a fired case .... Gonna sit down and run every single bullet I have over 180 gr to record the rifling contact ogive measurement and resulting cartridge oal ......

EDIT .....

Just ran the Bergers and these are the measurements for ogive and cartridge oal for the rifling kiss in the the 300 LRH......

..............Bullet....................... ogive oal ..........cartridge oal
230 gr Berger Hybrid Target ...........2.880" ................3.655"
215 gr Berger Hybrid Target............2.880" ................3.647"
210 gr Berger VLD Target................2.853" ................3.540"
210 gr Berger VLD Hunting..............2.850" .................3.532"
200 gr Berger Hybrid Target.............2.880" ................3.624"

Your throat must be around .270-.275" then. I have some R-50 I might try over the winter to see if I can get a bit more case fill and maybe a bit more velocity. The accuracy with that load is phenomenal though. I've shot the 230's over 3100fps but the accuracy is around that 3045fps range.

Bartlein 5r 1:8". A3 Edge stock. Pt&g m5 bottom for the 3.850 length. Putting a holland 20moa level base on it and hope to find an xtr 2 to top it off whenever they become available again.

Meet the newest addition to the family, Louise. Picked her up from GAP today. These are shots 4, 5, & 6 at 102y. I shot a nice 1" 3-shot group at 356y for the final group of the evening. I've done zero load work so needless to say, I'm really looking forward to getting her dialed in! Rifle specs:

Surgeon XL
KMW stock in McM camo
Bartlein 1-9 twist finished at 27"
Badger FTE brake
Finished in FDE cerakote

Very nice looking rig..... even upside down! lol I had George barrel my TRG-42 to 300 NM, I sent him a Bartlein R5 1:8" finished at 27.5". I found the node on the first try using 83.5 H1000 F215M using the 230 Berger Hybrid @ 2.850" CBTO at 2900 fps. Easy peasy to load for, and shoot. Good Luck with her.

Thanks Cole. I used your COAL from a previous post! This load was 88gr of H50BMG. Not sure what the velocity is but seating depth is spot on. I'll play around with the charge weight a little but otherwise she's GTG.

Got a chance to get out shooting this afternoon and chrono the following load:
Berger 230gr hybrid
88gr H50BMG
2.847" @ ogive
2896 fps average over 5 shots
SD: 5.0
3/4" 3-shot group @ 356y

That's right at the velocity that I found for my load and barrel length, which is only 1/4" longer then yours. You must be on or near the OBT with that powder?

Nice work! Looks like you have a real winner.
