.30-06 and 215 berger

Ok hopefully this revive this thread. Anyone here load the 215gr Bergers in a 30-06 with a 26" barrel? I just missed a Remington long Range stainless in 30-06 :(

I haven't tried the 215 Berger but did try 210 ABLR and 212 ELDX in a 24" 30-06. I tried Superformance, H4831SC, Reloder 19 and 16 powders. I also tried both large rifle and magnum primers once dialed in a bit more.
Several loads were accurate but SDs were garbage. Best results of both came from Reloder 16 using magnum primers. I don't have the numbers in front of me but want to say velocities were right around 2600fps with single digit SDs.
I decided to save the heavier .30 cal rounds for the RUM and dropped down to 175 Bergers and 180 mono bullets for the 30-06. Reloder 16 was still the best powder in my particular rifle though even with those lighter bullets. Worth trying if you have some. Otherwise, H4831SC was very accurate...it's just really slow.

I have run the 215s in my 30-06 with IMR4350 powder and CCI 200 Primers. Was able to get 2800 without bad pressure signs. No extraction issues just alight and I mean light smearing on the case head and slight flattening of the primmer.

I also Have tested the 215 with up to 65 grains of RL26 Powder with Fed 215 Mag primers . I am going to finish testing when the weather warms up. But this is what I plan to stick with. I am getting a little over 2850 with 65 grains with no case head smear but a very light primer flattening. And I mean very light. I cant get enough powder in to get over pressure. I plan on test loads from 65 to 65.5 Grains and going with the best one.

First load with 56 grains of RL26 and 215s with Fed 215 mag primers saw 2373 average on the crony. So for those wondering I did start low and worked up.

A couple more things to note. I have a 28" 1:10 twist barrel. I also Am jumping to the lands with a .250 Jump. Yes you read that right a .250 Jump. My COAL is 3.640" So I am also seated out a ways already. More room for more powder. ;)
Did you ever get a chance to test out your RL 26 load, or other loads using the 215gr? TIA
