The 280 and the 30-06 are both rated at 60000 psi for max pressure. The 270 and 25-06 are rated closer to 65000 psi max pressure. Why exactly is this as they are based on the same case. Is it safe to load the 280 Rem closer to the 270 max pressure? I know a person would have to watch for pressure signs and be very careful.
My thoughts are the pressure in the 280 is kept lower beause of the rifles the cartridge was introduced in.
