My vanguard likes 7828 and cci250 with 150 sst and 150 sgk however the 150 NBT not so much.
Im thinking about sneaking in br2 to see if anything improves. A sweet spot with 150s is 3025 to 3050fps depending on the lot of bullet.
Anyone have any load suggestions for me?
Come on royinidaho!!!!

Happy to oblige! :D

Give CCI 200s a try. I Always find that mag primers don't work as well as non-mags in the 270.

You may have to search for the sweet seating depth for the BTs.

The velocity is about where you want it, i'd think. You may wish to give Alliant 4000 MR a go for a bit more boost. Works great in my 270 w/140s @ WSM velocities.

Oh, and I use 7828ssc w/CCI 200s for 3200 FPS MV and 140 Berger VLDs.

Please let us all know ! I'm loading 270. Weatherby Mag for a possible 500 yard Bean field shot at a white tail. I'm using Nosler 150 Grn ABLR,s right now ! They did very well hitting the steel plates at 800 to 1200. Yards at shooting school!! Shooting a stock Weatherby MarkV,26 inch bbl with a. 10 twist ! 1979 Rifle.Leupold 8.(to 25 X windplex scope! 67 Grns of H4831SC for 2900/ 2950 FPS right now . Very interested in your results !!

Yeah but more relevant today with new heavier bullets for .270 along with newer powders like RL26.

Sorry Boots, I did not get the years old comment. Has that RL 26 powder been you load for 9 years?? Sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake, but your progress is important to my load development.

Lenny: no my comment was directed to original older post on 150's that they are more relevant now with better powders. You are all good. I assembled my rifle last year so it is current. I have several threads on it and suggest search for .270 Thors Hammer. It was named by LRH folks in a thread for laughs since it showed velocities far better than any of us expected with the 156HH. Go up to post 5 in this thread and link to last year ladders, there is data there that might help you right now. The 150AB will be same as 150BT since Nosler uses same data for both bullets on their website. Please heed all warnings and use standard safe reloading practices.

Thanks Buddy, My Custom heavy barrel 270 Win, with 8 twist hart barrel ,and very long throat, will follow your lead!! My 270 Weatherby Mag, will happily live with the 150 Grn ABLR , and I will get the load up to 3000 fps this year. I have loads made with 67.0 grns H 4831SC, but I know I can take that load to 69.0 Grns. easily. As soon as we get a couple 40 to 50 degree days, it will be time for a ladder test. Most accurate load to date is 66.7 Grns H 4831SC. with the 150 Grn ABLR . Thanks again Boots!!!
