22 cal bullet weight

Purchased a new savage trophy hunter in 22-250 it has a 1 in 12 twist rate, what grain bullet should I start with?

I have a 1:12 22-250 and it likes 50 grainers. It has a preference for sierra blitzkings, followed closely by Nosler ballistic tips. Vmaxs not so much - weird how that works.

Powder wise likes Varget and IMR4895

Enjoy the 22-250. Great round and a critter stopper to say the least.

Try anything under 60gr. The heavy bullets are longer and need a faster twist.

I've got a 1:12 that shoots Barnes 36gr VGs over IMR-4895 into little tiny bugholes

The 53 gr VMAX has the best BC of bullets that your twist will handle.:)

I've got 1-12" twist that loves to shoot 36 gr Barnes VG and 40 gr Sierra Blitzkings behind some Varget.
