2020 LRH group hunt for elk with non-typical outfitters in western wyoming

Hi Andy,

wanted to do this for a long time and finally got it all together. Spoke with Rob yesterday and send my booking form and deposit.

Looking forward to hunting with you guys,

Waidmannsheil,
Bjorn

We are excited to announce another LRH Group Elk Hunt with Non-Typical Outfitters in Western Wyoming for the 2020 hunting season!

If you have followed our hunt reports from past LRH Group hunts with Non-Typical Outfitters you know that we always have an absolutely wonderful time. Past group hunters would agree that there is a special camaraderie that develops very quickly in the LRH Group Hunt camps compared with other hunts they've been on.

If you dream of glassing some of the most beautiful high country imaginable and are willing to work hard, trust your guide and keep a positive, tough mental attitude until the last minute of the last day you will a have a great opportunity to find a mature bull.

The areas we hunt hold a lot of elk partly because they are challenging to hunt. The horses do most of the hard work but if you come in good shape you will enjoy the experience so much more and have a better chance at success.

There is virtually no flat ground anywhere we hunt so practice as much as possible setting up quickly for mid to long range shots on uneven ground. The opportunities can come and go in a flash in the mountains. I would HIGHLY recommend arriving at camp early enough to take advantage of Robb's condensed version of his mountain shooting class. That short class session will increase your odds exponentially on this and future hunts.

Here is all the important information from Robb and Dr. Brenda Wiley about the 2020 LRH Group Elk Hunt:

Where? The majestic rugged mountains of western Wyoming with Non-Typical Outfitters.
When? October 27-31 2020.

This Western Wyoming elk hunt is an authentic mountain horseback adventure that provides high opportunity and high success rates. Western Wyoming is one of the last strongholds of really good, wild, wilderness public land elk hunting. Over the years of offering the LRH group hunt we have had tremendous success together.

The afternoon before the hunt, NTO will be offering a smaller version of their 3 day shooting class to all hunt participants. Steel targets are used in real hunting scenarios from 300 to 900 yards. There is nothing better for confidence before a hunt than having the ability to validate at camp before the hunt begins. We will be teaching all hunters valuable proven shooting positions that will improve everyone's personal shooting success in rough mountainous terrain.

This a rare and valuable opportunity to connect with other LRH enthusiasts and like minded hunters, all while sharing a life changing hunting experiences together. Come connect and hunt with your people. Here are some pictures of some of the past LRH successes.

The caliber we recommend is the caliber you can shoot proficiently, this can be a different answer for every individual. For some this answer could be a 30 cal, or for others this could be 6.5mm. A 7mm Rem Mag is a tremendous caliber for this hunt. If you and your rifle can shoot sub MOA, you and your rifle are very capable of any shot that could be encountered on this hunt. The most important consideration is; can you and your rifle shoot sub MOA in rough mountainous terrain, under stress, in a limited amount of time? Rugged mountains and wild animals in a wilderness setting are challenging to all levels of shooters. To me that challenge ads a tremendous value to our experience. We would love to help you regardless of your caliber or ability. We do our best to achieve your personal goals, not ours.

I'm in! I have 3 points now. Just looking for a place to go. I'll send deposit today if there's still room.

Hunted with the LRH crew a few times now, always a good hunt, will put deposit check in mail once I confirm with Rob at Non-Typical space is available. Andy, if you have a count on "yes" yet you can pretty much count me in, I have 3-4 points for elk at this point.

Hey Zhomeguy,
You are always welcome at our fire, we would be honored to share another hunt with you! Yes we have room, we are about half way booked for this hunt. We have a great line up of guys, it's going to be some great hunting.

10 bonus points here and feel the same way. Looks like great fun!
I want to get in on one of these hunts someday, I just can't see burning 9 points this area. Good luck to all who go.
I can feel your guys' pain on this decision. You are between a rock and a hard place in Wyoming with 80 percent of the available elk hunting in Wyoming being general hunt areas. There is some seriously stiff competition for the limited quota hunts that offer better elk hunting than general areas. Most of those top limited quota areas require max points. This is common in many states. We have guides who work in areas in AZ that require 15 or more points, great areas with great outfitters, but theses guides say our general elk hunting is on average better than these AZ units. The only difference is AZ areas have a chance at a 380 plus bull. We don't have many bulls over 340 here in western Wyoming. We do have a limited quota area that could give you guys a good opportunity at 330-350. Or if you fellas ever decide to pull the trigger on a general elk hunt we would love to give you our best effort. Give me a ring and we can go over the options.

Tentatively in for 2 spots. Me and a friend of mine are working on contacting NTO right now. This will be my 3rd group hunt with LRH and NTO and I'm here to tell you guys both the camaraderie of the LRH group and the level of work put in by the NTO guys is really awesome. You would be hard pressed to find a more fun hunt than this.
