20 Var Targ Cooper MDL 21 Phoenix

I spend almost 95% of my time shooting Varmints and have been looking really hard at getting a new Cooper MDL 21 Phoenix in the 20 Var Targ..................what I have read is that his cartridge and the 32gr V Max gives Bench Rest accuracy. Looking at a 32gr doing about 3850. I've looked at the 17 Fire Ball and the 20 Tactical.

Anyone with experience shooting the 20 Var Targ or shooting the Cooper Rifles.


For $2000, I talked with two guys that have the 20 VT and they claim getting groups into the .2's...........................Ive never been close to that.

Sounds like a fun Cartridge.

I have a model 38 in 20VT. It shoots several loads in the .2s and .3s with no load development. I will most likely always have one of these in my gun cabinet.
