Who all has used your 6 Creed on Mule deer and what bullet are you using? I haven't hunted much with mine. I have used a 243 on whitetail quite a bit but have never been impressed with the results, and I've tried a lot of bullets. They all died just no bloodtrail if they went very far. I'll be in north west Colorado in solid sage. They get really hard to find if they don't go down quick. Trying to look for a reason to not carry by 300WSM. What have you had good luck with?

243 AI with a 105gr Berger has worked very well out to 600 yards on big whitetails. I would have no issue using it on a mule deer.

We've taken elk to 540 yds with the 6 Creed, and elk to 600 with the 6/06 and 95 NBT. In these cases the elk were taking a dirt nap very quickly after the bullets impact. I sure wouldn't be concerned with using the 6 CM on a deer.
Then again I've used my 22/250 to dump more than a few elk so keep that in mind. Be cool and be surgical and all will go well for you, not the deer or elk

I have seen mule deer hit with 300 mag that kept going, and I have seen them dropped with 243.
The big difference was placement, not caliber.
You have to place that penetration line where you need to, otherwise caliber helps but it means you might have a long tracking job.

A few deer with the 95 grain tipped match king. Been pretty solid. 1:7 twist barrel
I've dumped a bunch of Mulies and whitetails with a 105 Berger with 243, 243 ack, and 6 creed. It works very well. As with any caliber/cartridge, put the bullet where it needs to be and it'll get the job done.

I have mentioned in another thread that here in the northeast, if your deer doesn't go down you are likely knocking on doors to ask permission to track your deer. This is not always a fun experience. As a result, I bumped up my 6mm to a 25-06 and have had great results. Since most shots are around 100 yards, they typically drop or take just a few steps.

My 6CM has killed quite a few mule deer bucks and one doe during youth hunts.
105 Hyb @ 3188fps MV. Shots have been from about 250 to 500.
Pronghorn too, out to 460ish.
All together, I would say total travel distance from 5 mulies and the pronghorn is maybe a total of 20'.

6mm Creedmoor with 95 NBT, 103 ELDX does similar and Berger 109 LRHT but make sure the meplat is clean. I use a jewelers drill bit set.
I've used the Hornady 108 eldm on deer and one cow elk. It works well, but shot placement is crucial.
