Huge Black Bears 😳

Coastal NC definitely has massive Black Bear. A 500lb Bear here is a good one, but won't get talked about much. This is the biggest one I can recall getting on camera. He was nocturnal, so I never saw him during daylight when the season was in.

A friend of mine shot what I think ended up being the world record archery boar by weight back in 2023 that was 15 miles from my house.

In Pennsylvania they weigh about everything…usually have a bunch of guys helping to get them out. I've been packing bears out of hellholes for years in Montana. Just dissect them and boogie.
Boogie before a griz joins the party 😉
I've seen plenty to and from believe me
A big fall bear is the greasiest, oddly shaped, carcass that is as PIA as it gets for packing.

You guys in Wyoming don't have to retrieve carcass do you?

I've spent all night getting one dressed, and packed by lantern light. In that spot I would never do such at present, if the grizz don't get you, USFWS will.

We have to take all eatable meat ftom a big game animals.
Ya. Watching for griz while cutting up an animal is not fun. Especially if alone.

Have a friend in NC a farmer....no problem him shooting a 300 lb. + bear every year.....thay tear up his farm pretty good if not kept under control....
If he ever needs some help, I would be very happy to render my culling services. Please give me his contact information. 👍👍
