.280 AI

Sorry for the string answers the exact recipe for my load is Peterson Brass, 210M primer, 58.0g RL23, McGuire 160g Copper Rose. Usually 3030 fps with single digit ES.

I was building one myself, ended up with 7-SAW but I bought several lbs. of Ramshot Grand which seems to be a very good powder for that case, especially with heavier bullets. I haven't used it yet so I have no data to share but food for thought.

I'm getting 2850 with H4350 in the 7 SAW with 162 ELDM and over 3000 with the 145 LRX and CFE 223. I can go up if I want but those velocities are plenty for hunting, I'm just tweaking for accuracy now.

I have a semi custom blueprinted Remington action with a proof barrel, McMillan Game Hunter Stock and Trigger Tech Trigger that shoots very nice small groups with 143 grain Hammer Hunters at 3250 fps. I have not taken any Elk with it as it is not my elk rifle but it has taken several Antelope and Mule deer with great satisfaction. I am also using RL23 for my powder.

I found 58 grains of H4350 with Berger 168 VLD with Federal 210M at around 2900. My best group at 1435 yards. My other 280 was 56 grains of H4831SC with Accubond LR 150 and 175 grains

Just finsihed a new build and went with the 280AI. starting break in and playing around with differnt charges with H4350 and bullet weights, so far 140's/150's and 160gr Sierra Gamekings. Gonna try some ELD-M's. Was just curious what other found as the sweet spot are to start looking at, I know every rifles different. Also curious if anyone has tried any of the Barnes Bullets, specifically the LRX. Looking for just a good all around load for anything from pigs & yotes up to Elk (If I can ever get drawn). Kinda picturing & wanting to stay around a 140-150 gr bullet.

Also have a couple lbs of IMR 4451 might try some loads with that.
145gn LRX over 61gn of H4350 will break 3000fps and 140gn TTSX over 64gn of Rel 22 will break 3200fps in my 22" 280AI.
Please work up to these loads.

H4831 and H1000 with 160 Nosler AB interchangeable in my 280 ai. Just tried Grand. looks interesting Faster but not quite as accurate,

I have a 24"" Barlein that shoots 140BT with IMR4831 (non existent) for whitetail, 143HH with RL23. Other one is 26" barrel shooting 160AB's with RL26. Not sure which powder after IMR4831 runs out after 2 more years.
