This is almost word for word what we heard about hornady with the 6.5 PRC and 7prc lolHornady is fine. Check any "box store" on website for any caliber you want and Hornady will have the factory or the reloading component for it. Hornady sells volume, not specialty rounds. As far as the .308 or any other caliber that's been out for a while, IMHO they, Federal, will avoid at all costs. Why? It's not the flashy new toy they want to push AND everyone knows someone that has one so going out and buying something new isn't necessary. My prediction is the next caliber they drop as "Peak" will be in the .20 caliber. "Flatter, faster, able to take an Elk at 1500 yards" or some nonsense like that. Federal is appealing to the crowd that thinks "I CAN take a 1000 yard shot!" not to the hunter that thinks "Nah, that's just a little too far to be a good, clean shot." These aren't facts, but they are my opinion.
All it takes is federal hyping the Creedmoor to make everyone love Hornady once again. A month ago they were the red headed step child that had 200fps velocity swings between lot numbers, upside down bullets, over pressure blowing primers and 150fps below factory box velocity in their 7prc ammo. Conveniently federal was the one producing 7prc ammo at stated velocities.
