Has anyone tested using AI to help with load development

I have been playing with AI (artificial intelligence not Ackley Improved) to compair some of my load development for what AI has to say about it.

I am starting the work up on a Tikka T3x in 223 with a 16 inch barrel, so I asked AI for load reccomendations using a Hornady 62 ELDM and Swiss P brass. This will be my first test of the AI reccomendation and I was wondering if anyone has tested an AI reccomended load and what you thought of using AI as a starting place.

I have found AI handy for calculating the yardage for each subtension on a Steiner Preditor 4S scope. That scope comes with 100 yard zero and 200, 300 and 400 yard hash marks. I told AI that I wanted zero to be 200 yards, and with my specific load I asked what power setting to use for the hash marks to be good for 300, 400 and 500 yards. It came close enough for shooting coyotes.

I am just courious if anyone else is using AI in this way and what you think of it.
 
AI will try and kill you...eventually. No reason to give it advanced opportunities.

We only have 3 more years max...but then again...if Newsome has anything to do with it...this might be because of him.

Not a chance --- AI gets way too many things wrong to trust it with load development, who wrote the AI program?

When working up loads you need to consider powder, primers, case capacity, seathing depth, and bullet/type--- AI isn't sophisticated enough to come close to real world data for all the variables
 
AI has no experience, so it has nothing to apply intelligence to.
In current form, it does no more than sample for and report consensus.
Where consensus is wrong, AI is always wrong.

So if you seek a solution that is different from a mob notion, forget AI, go back to old fashion thinking things through.
 
AI is called artificial intelligence, that is actually not correct. It cannot think or reason, it only mimics intellignece. What it really is, is a large data filtering system. It cannot think for itself and decide if the answer it derives makes sense, it is 100% reliant on the data it has been fed. Therefore, if the data is crap, so will the answers be. Unless someone has taken the time to load a massive amount of load, ballistic, pressure etc data into the machine model, it will spit out pure nonsense, if it gives you an answer at all.

Coming from a Cybersecurity background. AI does learn so it is sort of artificially intelligent. However, it does so by being asked similar questions over and over and consolidating/updating the data based upon the parameters the programmer gave it. With that said, I do not, nor will I ever use it for something so critical as load development, ranging estimates, or anything else that has life or death involved. If you want to use it for math, taking meeting notes, recipes for food, programming, rewriting things for you, scheduling etc. it is pretty good for that, but you still need to only trust very little and Verify all answers it provides. Just one man's very experienced opinion. And, remember, Skynet is coming to a planet near you soon, so keep the big bores handy. 😅
 
Thanks 340Wby. Your answer seems to be based on real knowledge. As with everyone, I am very skeptical of AI. But, I think in the future each person is going to have to get a personal AI for protection from AI scammers. The little I have asked AI about balistics, it has been pretty good, but that is just math. The extent I have used AI for reloading has been to about different component combinaitons out of curosity as compared to what I have measured.

So basically it is a popularity poll, right???
 
I have a .300wsm that I have set up long. I put in all the specs I could think to add. My barrel is only 21" and so I asked AI which powders would work best.
