Scope Recommendation

A good hunting scope for under 500 yards and shooting at 1000 yards are both ends of the spectrum. I love my Zeiss Victory 2.5-10 for hunting. Clear as a bell and you can get on target quickly. I'd want more magnification for shooting 1000 yards but that takes you out of a good hunting scope. Eye relief becomes very critical at high magnifications. I had a 5-25 once upon a time and struggled to hold on a coyote at 800 yards at 25 power. Hunting with it at 5 power was fine but excluded a running shot close in. It's still hot here down South and mirage sets in pretty badly at 12 power. Good luck!

You can do very well with a lot less than your budget, but if you want to spend that much, I'd be looking at the new 2-12 NX6. The higher mag versions don't have a reticle I find suitable for hunting.

I have high hopes for the Shoot2Hunt 3-18 and have two of them on order for what you're budgeting.

Had hands on the Shoot2Hunt at the Western Hunt Expo. Think you will be happy with the scope. Optically about like my Nightforce. All functions were smooth. Also have one on order.

I just went through this on an Sig Cross HXT 24" 6.5CM. I was thinking crossover gun the whole way and I got a Burris Veracity PH 3-15ffp. In reality the gun has turned into a range and pretending to hunt (NRL type shooting) gun and 3-8 on the power ring never were used. So despite the Burris being pretty awesome I just put a 6-24 Athlon MilRad scope that is more conducive to the use.

Your budget is about double mine so you have a pile of choices. Just make sure the choice fits the 80% use and not the 20% so you don't have to do it again after a year.

The new Shoot2Hunt scope was purpose built to be exactly what you are looking for...which is the exact scope that hunters have been asking manufacturers for a very long time now.

As an added bonus, it's only half your budget 👍

Something in the 3-18 range would work well. I currently use a Burris XTR 3.3-18 on my NRL hunter setup up. The Zeiss S3 or the Maven RS3.2 would also be great options. If you look hard you may find a used ZCO or Kahles at the very top of your budget. The 4-20 ZCO is a great scope.

Hi all...just need some input...I have watched so many you tube videos my eyes are crossed! Here is what I want:
FFP
Scope will be used for hunting and possibly some long range fun up to 1000 yards
Budget is between 1500-2750...
I am leaning Leupold or Nightforce or Sig
will be mounting on a Sig Cross Sawtooth 6.5 PRC
Most of the use will be whitetail hunting from 100-500 yards but want ability to go farther if necessary or for fun
I have a new in box LRP S5 5-25x56 for 2650 includes shipping. If interested PM me we can use Guntab.

You have a decent budget for a good to fantastic scope if you look hard enough.
I would start looking for a used high end scope. You can hit well above your price range with used.
Here are some of the scopes I have bought used in your budget range and the prices I paid vs (new cost).

Kahles K318i 3-18x50 $2000 ($3600)
NF NX8 2.5-20x50 $1300 ($2100)
NF NX8 2.5-20x50 FDE $1500 ($2200) w. rings
Tangent Theta TT315M 3-15x50 $2500 ($4300)
Tangent Theta TT315M 3-15x50 $400 ($4300) w. rings (This was in a multi-scope trade deal, but what my actual out of pocket cost was)
March FX 4.5-28x52WA $1900 ($3200)
S&B PMII 3-20x50US $2500 ($4700)
S&B PMII 5-20x50US $2700 ($5500)

3X minimum is a great low end for close hunting. 15-18X will easily have you shooting to 1K+. I shoot out to 1770 with 15X high quality scopes.
