Speer impacts.

What grain bullet and velocity are you running? I couldn't find an accurate node with the 180 grain.
Speer 190gr, 77.5gr of H-1000, sig brass, cci primer.

Any field experience with the Speer impact? Looking at going to the 190 for my 300 wby.
A fan of Speer. A video review shows performance in ballistic gel at various ranges. Looks good 100 to 500 yards. Needs assessment at 10 to 75 yards, may be too soft at high velocity/close range to rely on for things that might eat you. Speer advertises them as a long range high BC bullet; the performance revealed in that gel tests confirms a good bullet for the purpose. May want to avoid bone at longer range.

Speer Impact 30cal 190gr Product Overview

Take your hunts, your handloads and your shots farther. The Speer® Impact bullet blends tough, molecularly bonded construction with a high ballistic coefficient. Its groundbreaking Slipstream™ polymer tip provides a perfect aerodynamic meplat, and its hollow core initiates expansion at velocities 200 fps lower than comparable designs. The combination results in deep penetration at mid-range, as well as extreme accuracy and consistent low-velocity expansion at long distances. *(says close-range penetration)*
  • Molecularly fused jacket maximizes weight retention and improves accuracy
  • Slipstream polymer tip increases downrange energy and initiates low-velocity expansion
  • High ballistic coefficients for flatter trajectories and better long-range performance
  • Close-range penetration and long-distance expansion
